Dear  Dad

Thanks for taking me on camp with Adi we enjoyed the ride there it was cool. At geocaching when we around the town it was cool since we won and everyone in the group thought we would come last. But when we got back we got two lollipops and everyone in the group thought our group would be the only ones getting two lollipops for winning but we were wrong for the whole hour and twenty minutes thinking of losing.

Thank you for waiting for the group when we were lagging behind in the walk that was 5 hours because it wasn’t a fun time doing that walk until we got to the glacier. On the hill it was a long steep walk well… Mostly run but it was worth it.

Im sure everyone in the group was enjoying the walks, geocaching and mostly enjoying the sleeps after all the walks we did that first day the first long five hour walk it was worth the pain in doing so it was a pretty amazing walk on the way there.

The lake we passed on the way to the car park was crystal blue and where there were dark spots it was at least five meters deep at the max and at the least it would have been three meters at the least and it was a long  walk going to the car park and it felt strangely longer than the other walk on the way to the lake.

On the way back to school everyone in M3 was pretty sad leaving Fox Glacier.

The kiwi house was amazing there was just the two kiwi and one was 2 weeks and the other was 3 weeks old. When we got in they had just had a fight and they were at either side looking for a spot to sleep because kiwi only sleep when it is a little bit light and they run crazy in the dark that is why they are so stupid and running into things in the night being crazy and that is why they are the most clumsiest birds in New Zealand and the people who are catching the kiwi only find them in a place where you have to wait for them to come out. It is a big wait but sometimes it's worth it some tourists are really annoyed having to wait so long through the night of the kiwi sightings sometimes it’s rare but it wasn’t that rare of a sight because it was a close up look. Thank you for letting the group get up close when it was running away because we wouldn’t have seen it if you hadn’t moved for us to see the kiwi running around being crazy. One of the kiwi were in the corner to see if the other kiwi would come over but the other kiwi we thought had the same idea of going to see the other kiw on the other side and it seemed like forever in the actual kiwi house but it was only five minutes at the max that we were in there.

Yours Sincerely
Nicky Toal.

Camp Reflection Nicky.

Fox Glacier Camp 2016 (The Best Camp!!)

Once we had set off I knew it would be a fun camp and most of the ride to Hokitika I already enjoyed the ride there. Once we had got to the playground in Hokitika mostly everyone ran to the swings but then they noticed that there was two parts of the playground and there was a swing that goes across the playground on the other side.

Once we had set off to go to Hari Hari, Adi & I had just ate some lollies and we thought it was a bad idea but it wasn’t so we ate more and more but it was still not effective as much as the way to Fox.

We had made it to Hari Hari and we stopped for lunch and we had a twenty minute play and set off for Fox Glacier.  We got to The Top 10 Holiday park and unpacked and then went on a five hour walk to the Glacier and it was a long walk up to the Glacier but it was worth the big walk up to the top of the mountain. Once we had got to the look-out all we could see was the huge Glacier all across one side it was just ice on the other it was lined with ice where two tourists had got crushed by the Glacier when they got to close.

We got to Hokitika Tree Top Walk we got to see native plants & native birds around the walk. The walk on the steel guard rails and mesh like floor guard’s as well. There is a tower you would walk up to see the whole Tree Top Walk it was cool to see all of it. Then we moved onto a swing bridge and everyone on the swing bridge ran up and down it to make it wobbley to make people get off so it was just us.

On the way back to school everyone was excited to see us but nearly everyone had gone home for the weekend (I think they were more excited to go instead of seeing us.) Fox Glacier Camp was the best camp I have been on.
